3 ways to work with andrew's canine academy

What my clients say

andrew-canine-academy-dog-training-fingerprint

“Andrew is a very kind, personable, experienced trainer with a passion for training. It is obvious he loves dogs and enjoys helping to make the experience of dog ownership a pleasure. In group settings, he does his best to make everyone comfortable, even those who are struggling (or have a dog that is struggling/difficult). It is quite clear that he has experience with all kinds of breeds, levels of difficulty, etc. I cannot recall a situation brought to his attention where he didn’t have a clever way to help the dog/owner. I have referred numerous people to Andrew, and all were quite pleased. I’m confident that the decision to engage with Andrew will be a positive experience for owner and dog.”

Training your dog is a journey full of ups and downs.

A professional dog trainer can make the process smoother and more effective — for you and your pup.

Keeping your dog’s best interests at heart, my customized training services will help them nail down basic commands and nip problem behaviors in the bud. No two dogs are alike, which is why I tailor my approach for each furry client, using a variety of techniques and modalities. As training evolves, I stay flexible and adapt to each dog’s unique needs and learning styles throughout the entire process.

Let me take the leash and lead the way to a happier, well-behaved pooch!

GETTING STARTED IS AS EASY AS 1, 2, 3:

01.

Request a free training consultation

I’ll be in touch to set up a free consultation so we can see if I’m a good fit for you and your pup’s needs.

02.

Get acquainted with me and my process

I’ll spend an hour in your home to learn more about both of you, your challenges and what you’re hoping to accomplish.

03.

LET THE TRAINING BEGIN

We’ll get to work and start your pup on a personalized training program that will unleash their full paw-tential.

Basic Obedience

About the lessons

One-on-one lessons that cover basic obedience commands in your own home. I currently offer two obedience packages:

1 60-minute lesson - $125
Your pup and I will master one obedience command.

8 60-minute lessons - $900
Over a series of engaging lessons, I’ll teach your pup all of the basic commands: sit, down, loose leash walking, leave it, drop it, come when called, place/climb command and dealing with unwanted/rude behaviors. Best of all, my sessions do not expire!

Behavior Modification

About the PROGRAM

andrew-canine-academy-dog-training-icon

Personalized at-home sessions that tackle behavioral issues like aggression, reactivity, fear or other unwanted behaviors. By the end of our sessions, you’ll see major improvements!

1 60-minute assessment - $75
In cases of aggression/reactivity, receive an assessment of what training will look like for your furry BFF.

5 60-minute sessions - $600
10 60-minute sessions - $1,100
No two dogs are the same. That’s why all of my behavior modification sessions are completely tailored to your pooch’s specific needs.

Since it’s easier to work with aggressive/reactive dogs when I already have an existing relationship with them, I’m happy to customize a package that covers both obedience (basic commands) and behavior modification (working to fix aggressive/reactivity).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • How long will it take to train my dog?
Short answer, but it depends. There are a number of factors that can come into play: how much time and work you invest into your dog’s training, your dog’s drive, breed and genetics, etc. As the old adage goes, practice makes perfect!
  • Are you going to do the training for me?
Yes and no. My training process typically begins with teaching commands and fixing behaviors, then you will need to follow up at home and practice with your pooch to ‘lock’ the behavior or command in their brain. I’m always willing to help wherever I can and answer any questions along the way, even after we’ve completed our training program.
  • Will my dog be fully trained after we work with you?
Through our sessions, I will check everything off your list of training needs. Long-term results will ultimately depend on whether you continue to practice training with your pup to ensure they remain well-trained and well-behaved.
  • Will my dog like or be friends with other dogs/people after we’re done?
In the case of reactive/aggressive dogs, most likely not. (Of course, this also depends on the dog’s age, breed, genetics and the people they’re around.) While I can help you manage aggression/reactivity, I cannot fix it entirely. We’ll get you and your dog to a point where you can be near or coexist with other dogs or people. If a young puppy is showing aggressive behavior, it is possible to prevent it from escalating.

Ready for your dog to become their best self and live their best life? Let’s get started.
